The Rotherham Group of the Royal British Legion is an active and forward looking organisation whose aims are to look after the welfare of ex-servicemen and women in the area, and to ensure that those who made the ultimate sacrifice are never forgotten. The defining moments of our year are the annual Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Sunday parades and services throughout the Rotherham area. Our branches also have a good time along the way, with social evenings and trips out, details of which are on each branch page or Facebook page. We also support and work closely with the Local Army and Air Cadet Forces, the Town Councils and local churches, schools and other charities.

Our Aims.

To help branches provide financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the our forces and their families.

As part of the Royal British Legion we are the  Custodians of Remembrance within each of our branch areas.

To  safeguard the Military Covenant by promoting the Governments promise to Local Authorities and businesses.

Founded in 1921, the Legion is not just about those who fought in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting for the freedom we enjoy today.

Our Meetings

We meet quartely. We rotate venues within the group to enable all local members to attend our meetings.
